'Hun Sen' warns that civil servants who refuse to get vaccinated will prepare to lose their jobs.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Hun Sen threatened harsher measures, saying those violating the two-week quarantine would face speedy trial and imprisonment.

“Those who violate COVID measures must be punished. I accept being called a dictator. But I will be praised for protecting people's lives,” the Khmer leader said.

Cambodia has passed a tough COVID-19 law that could see people who violate virus regulations jailed for up to 20 years.

Hun Sen also announced that he is making vaccination 'mandatory' for all government officials and military forces. and warn them that if they refuse They may be fired.

Cambodia's vaccination program began in February and about 1 million people have since received their first shot.

The number of infected patients began to surge in late February after an outbreak was discovered in the Chinese community, and hospital beds in Phnom Penh are now running low. Authorities are turning schools and wedding banquet halls into treatment centers for those with mild symptoms.
